Mumbai: M A Students Parvati Poojary and Kala Bhagwath to receive M B Kukyan gold medals

Mumbai, Dec 1: Rank holding M A students of Mumbai University Kannada department, Parvati Poojary and Kala Bhagwath are selected for the prestigious M B Kukyan gold medals by the university. The gold medals will be presented during the convocation of Mumbai university on December 10, stated a press release from the university.

Parvati Sudhaker Poojary completed her primary school education at Soraba taluk. She secured her B A LL B degree from Bengaluru. She has written a research book in Kannada about the life and writings of veteran Yakshagana artiste of Mumbai Kolyaru Raju Shetty. The book is published.



Kala Chidananda Bhagwath hailing from Haladipur, Honnavar taluk, Uttar Kannada district has obtained her B Sc degree from Dr A V Baliga college, Kumta. Her book about the achievements of well known doctor of the land, Dr B M Hegde written during her M A degree studies at the Kannada department of Mumbai university is already published. Another book by her titled ‘Jeevaswara : Jayanth Kaikini Prabanda Loka’ is ready for publishing. Her stories, poems, essays and articles are published in newspapers. Some of them have won prizes.

Mumbai university Kannada department professor and head of the department Dr G N Upadhya and co professor Dr Poornima Sudhaker have congratulated Parvati Poojary and Kala Bhagwath.
