Mumbai, Nov 30: National Congress party Mumbai Pradesh senior vice president, veteran leader of Billava community, Laxman C Poojary Chitrapu visited Chhagan Bhujbal, community leader of other backward classes, former chief minister of Maharashtra and current minister of Maha Vikas Aghadi government for food, civil supply and consumer affairs, at the minister’s office at Mantralaya, Nariman Point on Monday, November 29.
Laxman Poojary handed over a memo to the minister with details of the procedure followed by the government of India for categorizing other backward classes on the basis of educational and social status.
Corporation committee member Niranjan Laxman Poojary explained the general categories, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and OBC. OBC is one of the several categories among the population in the country.
