Panaji, Nov 29: In order to show solidarity with the doctors all over the country, The Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) have threatened from not serving in OPDs from December 1 as protest against union government and judiciary if steps are not taken to process NEET PG counselling of 2021 quickly.

In a letter to the superintendent of GMC, Dr Pratik Sawant, president of GARD said that they will only continue offering emergency services in the best interest of the patients.

There are around 300 new resident doctors in the state, who have not yet joined as first year residents as the NEET PG counselling is delayed due to the postponement of their exams from January to May.

For the past six months, throughout the country, 75% of the workforce is working and also battling covid infected patients. Union government has postponed the counselling for January 2022 as it sought time from apex court to sort out the issue of income criteria for EWS (Economically Weaker Section) students.
