Amid new scare, 14 doctors in Dharwad hospital test positive for coronavirus

Dharwad, Nov 28: DC Nithesh Patil confirmed that 14 doctors of SDM hospital in the city have tested positive for coronavirus.

The deputy commissioner has decided to mark the campus of the hospital as a containment zone. Information regarding this has been conveyed to the chief minister as well.

Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai held interactive sessions with DCs of seven districts on Saturday November 27. He was apprised about the SDM hospital cases during the meeting. Only six among the 14 infected have shown symptoms while others are asymptomatic.

The OPD of SDM hospital has been closed for some days. The DC said that this has been done as a precaution and there is no need to panic.

He further added that many people have not considered Covid pandemic seriously. He appealed to the public to reduce holding meetings and functions and avoid crowding in public places.

    When nobody has found the corona virus itself to prove it causes infections and deaths how can its genomes are found? Contaminated samples from outside sterile labs which give all these variants. According to latest reports double vaccinated were found to be more vulnerable compared to natural immunity people against this strain.

    It entered....and spreaded too as per this article. That means, govt officials/airport authorities/and concerned responsible depts were sleeping till now.....When foreign countries had lockdown....we were negligent. Only money making and squeezing the ordinary person...Everytime, we lag behind in containing the same...

    Dear Cynthia ma'am so you say lockdown should happen and people should sit at home without any income...You have any lemon worth practical knowledge what this will cause? There is school fees, loan due, EMIs, electricity, water, daily expenses, etc etc And you say the selfish government opens lockdown to earn money. Dear ma'am its not just the government who earns money, the entire state survives and prospers when there is no lockdown. And all the time its not the govt to be blamed. Sometimes we have to reflect at us too and open the mustard sized brain.

    Dear sir Girish....i request you to read my comment again.... I never supported Lockdown....i said....govt authorities were negligent in containing the virus even after having sufficient information about the spread in foreign countries. I was against the Lockdown in the past too....Here, govt. Authorities only are to be blamed and not ordinary people. Have you seen, how functions/mass gatherings/processions are conducted ? Control is in whose hands ? Govt or ordinary people? Now, they think of doing lock down? Loss is for whom ?? For us. After that, its the government only increasing the rates on everything.....If they were aware, they could have avoided public gathetings/political gatherings/social functions without guidelines ...which are absolutely unnecessary during this period....All cant make money ...only certain fields....

    Lockdowns are useless. May be a little physical distancing. Omicron variant has 10 spikes to bind on to the cell of the human being. Alpha (original virus) had one, Delta variant had 2 spikes which was more spreading. Omicron is 5 times or 10 times more spreading. We have pushed God away from our life, and this is the result. Temples and Churches were closed and last rites or very needful sacraments were denied for the dying. No time in history this had happened even during Spanish flu, when 50 million died while population was barely 1 Billion. Only God knows what is in store for us.
