Mangaluru/Udupi, Nov 27: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, November 27, reported 13 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 5 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 22,31,462 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,15,630 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,832 out of which 128 are currently active.
As many as 7 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,694.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,07,81,170 as fine in 88,883 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,63,692 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 5 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 76,861 out of which 50 are currently active.
A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. Coronavirus has claimed 476 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,20,471 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 5,46,981 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
