Bangalore: Six Govt Officials in Lokayukta Net

Bangalore, Nov 16 (PTI): Six government officials were found in possession of assets worth over Rs 7.63 crore, disproportionate to their known sources of income during raids conducted by Lokayukta on their official and residential premises across Karnataka today.

Food Inspector, Hoskote taluk office, S Thimmaraju topped the list with assets worth Rs 1.49 crore including a shopping complex, a two storeyed house and a site in Bangalore, disproportionate to his known total income of Rs 46.50 lakh, a Lokayukta statement said.

Siddarama Ningappa Koganuru, Assistant Executive Engineer Panchayat Raj Engineering Sub Division, Indi taluk was found to possess assets worth Rs 1.40 crore including a two-storeyed building in Bijapur worth Rs 50 lakh against total income of Rs 35 lakh since he joined service in 1983.

K T Mada Shetty, Junior Engineer, Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited, Bidar was found to possess assets worth Rs 1.31 crore including three sites and a two-storeyed house in Mysore. This was against total income of Rs 40 lakh.

Shankara Gowda Anandarayagowda Patil, Assistant Executive Engineer in Bijapur sub-division was found with assets worth Rs 1.17 crore including a duplex bunglow worth Rs 40 lakh and 10 acres worth Rs 1.70 lakh in Bijapur taluk.

Noor Ahmad Khan, Assistant Director Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited, Kittur in Belgaum district was found to possess assets worth over Rs 1.60 crore as opposed to his total income of Rs 68.90 lakh.

C K Prasad, Senior Division Assistant (SDA), Panchayat Raj Engineering division, Chikmagalur was found in possession of assets worth Rs 67.28 lakh disproportionate to his known sources of income.

    Sir very good job, can pls. give these currupt officer for public hand to teach lession. otherwise they don't stop. only the way to stop give to public hand or give Iran Country punishment. Indian law they know some politician's will get them out and our 3rd class minister will give promotion for these 3rd class people. wait and see my word.

    We always hear from lokayuktha about the raids & the money in excess of their earning traced in their properties,but what action have they taken ?? Could they suspend the corrupt officer from his post,is there any case against them?? Is their money & property seized?? Has government initiated action to strip them of their ill earned wealth?? what is the outcome of the raid? Will the lokayuktha the actions taken so far on the cases registered & take the people into confidence of their achievements?? We will salute the Lokayuktha if they can show how many of these officers lost jobs because of corruption .

    Great work by Lok Ayukta. Congrats. Despite your best efforts corruption still rules, RTO, Registrar Office, Panchayat, any Govt Office ! Only public awakening and Press n electonic media can stop this. We need more TEHELKA.

    All partial and hypocrisy. Why Govt has cast deliberate loopholes
    in the Suo Moto Powers opting Chief Minister, Cabinet Ministers,
    Legislators and Members of Parliament out of the ambit of the
    Lokayukta ? As of now Lokayukta jurisdiction range covers only
    elected representatives like corporators and councilors, civil
    servants which may not bear the desired result in the long run.
    If politicians are corrupt & not prompt, so will be its officials.
    Therefore, Lokayukta should have powers to act on both all
    officers as well people’s representatives to clean the entire
    Govt. corrupt machinery.

    It is better lokayukta submits his resignation and goes home. There is nothing much can be done either to control corruption or punish the corrupt. These are small fish, when sharks are all around occupying the parlimentary seats.
    BJP, I thought will act on corruption, but they proved worst of all. In 02years they were amazing in 'development' of corruption.
