Bantwal: Thousands of Devotees Witness ‘Vishwaroopa Darshan’ at Tirumala Temple

Bantwal, Nov 15: It was indeed a visual treat for those witnessing the ‘Vishwaroopa Darshan’ at Tirumala Venkataramanaswamy Temple of Vatapura, in the wee hours of Sunday November 14. Thousands of devotees lit their earthen lamps simultaneously brightening the entire precinct of the shrine with the light of nearly 75,000 lamps.
Preparations were made till late on Saturday night to place thousands of lamps all around the temple, while thousands of devotees from all over the taluk camped at the location. The light was brought from the temple at sharp 4.45 am on Sunday and the devotees lit their lamps which were in place by then.
The earthen lamps of various shapes and sizes depicting mythological characters illuminated the surroundings and gave the semblance of daylight. A programme of ‘bhajans’ and various religious celebrations were held on the occasion.
Thousands of devotees including RSS Pramukh Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, Pai International managing director Ajith Pai, Corporation Bank general manager B R Bhat, former state minister B Nagaraj Shetty, town councilor Dinesh Bhandary, Bantwal Urban Development Authority president A Govind Prabhu, and Tirumala temple managing trustee M Vedavyas Prabhu were present on the occasion.
