Panaji, Nov 14: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will sort out all organizational issues in Goa within couple of days, a senior party leader said. NCP’s Goa unit president Jose Philip D’Souza has been asked to resign by the high command after he entered into a public brawl with party legislator Fransisco Mickey Pacheco.

NCP general secretary Prakash Bhingsale told on Saturday evening that the party high command is in knowledge of the issues faced by the unit and everything will be sorted out in next two days. Party in Goa faced humiliating situation when two of its legislators including its state chief Jose Philip D’Souza and former tourism minister Fransisco Mickey Pacheco had a public brawl last month.

Bhingsale said that he met both the leaders in Goa and heard their point of view. “I will be compiling the report and submitting it to the high command,” he added.

Responding to a question, Bhingsale said that he does not want to comment on who will be the choice for NCP’s Goa unit president at this juncture. This is not the right time to comment on anything. We will take the appropriate decision and get back to you,” he said.

Party sources stated that the high command is also contemplating to dethrone D’Souza from the state cabinet and replace him with Pacheco. Pacheco had to step down after his name was embroiled in the controversy over death of his friend Nadia Torrado.
