Bantwal, Nov 17: A bike rider who was seriously injured following a road accident on NH 75 between a lorry and bike died after he failed to respond to the treatment in the hospital.
The accident in which a bike and lorry collided head-on took place at Melkar late night of Tuesday November 16.
The deceased is Ganesh (36), a resident of Mangaluru. It is said that the lorry had rammed into the victim’s bike when he was taking a turn towards Mudipu road at Melkar junction.
It is learnt that Ganesh was working in a service station at Marnabailu near Melkar. The lorry driver in a bid to avoid hitting the bike, had hit a roundabout at the spot.
A case is registered in Bantwal traffic police station.

Ganesh was seriously injured in the accident.
The lorry was on the way from Mani to Mangaluru, while the two-wheeler took a left turn towards Sajipa to Melkar where the mishap took place.
The impact of the accident was as such that two-wheeler and a roundabout at the spot were completely damaged.
