Sharjah: Karnataka Sangha Gears up for Mayura Cup Tourney

Sharjah, Nov 3: Karnataka Sangha, Sharjah is all set to host its annual sports day with 'Mayura Cup Tournament 2010' scheduled for Friday November 12, at Sharjah Wanderers Club Staidium from 8 am to 6 pm.

The event is open to all Kannadigas in the UAE.


The main attraction of the day will be ladies' tug-of-war. There will also be ladies' throwball, men's volleyball, kabbadi, tug-of war for men and a variety ofgames for the children.
 
The fun-filled day-long sports event is open for all. The event will be spiced up with free breakfast and lunch for all the nominated teams and guests. The participating teams will be rewarded with gifts at the end of the sports event.

    Dear organizers,
    Please try to write down the rules for the tournament to the last detail such as replacement of substitutes, method adopted in case 2 or 3 teams winning same number of games,finals interrupted by rain etc. Don't change the written rules once d. Take lots on the day of the tournament itself so that confusion can be avoided if one team opts out.Clearly announce the importance of players and supporters taking the umpire's decision gracefully without argument and not taking the matter to daijiworld column to show the ugly face of Mangaloreans.Wishing you all the best in organizing the event. Hope at least this year let us act like competitors and not like enemies. Otherwise the the purpose of organizing games is not served.Whether our players will take up this challenge?

    Sharjah Karnataka Sangha is one of the most active Kannada Organizations in UAE. I sincerely hope, as every year, the forth coming Mayura cup tournament is also going to be a very successful event.-M.E.Moolur
