Mangaluru, Oct 27: JDS Mangaluru south block held protests here against one way traffic imposed from A B Shetty circle here to Old Kent road.
Party leader Sushil Noronha said that the sudden change of road has caused a lot of inconvenience to people and urged the concerned officials to give up the decision. He said that the governments at the centre and the state have released Rs five hundred crore for smart city projects but none of the works are completed. “The roads in the city are dug up hindering traffic. The officials in the government offices are refusing to give details. Therefore the respected deputy commissioner and the police commissioner should look into the problems of people in this connection and solve them,” he urged.
JDS ladies wing unit president Sumathi Hegde said that the changes to the traffic when the prices of essential commodities, petrol and diesel have sky rocketed is not right.
State fisheries unit president Rathnaker Suvarna welcomed. Youth leader Faizul Rehman rendered a vote of thanks. Munir Mukkacheri compered the programme.
