Bantwal, Oct 25: First to fifth standard students of upgraded district panchayat government higher primary school, Nalkemar here were accorded grand welcome during the reopening of the school. The children were escorted to the school auditorium on Monday in a procession with a musical band. Students from fifth to eighth standard had made all the preparations for the unique reopening of the school. School development committee president Vijay and school development committee members took part in the procession.
School teachers handed over flowers and balloons to the school children, applied vermilion to the forehead of the children and made them sit in the auditorium. Teacher Rekha sang a children’s song and began the programme. Amtadi gram panchayat president Mohini chaired the programme. Panchayat vice president Sunil Kumar, panchayat development officer Ravi, headmistress Jyothi and local panchayat members were present as guests of honour.
Teacher Jyothi welcomed. Teacher Shashikala compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks. Teacher Rekha Rao compered the programme.
