Panaji, Oct 25: Calangute police arrested two people, natives of Jaipur in Rajasthan state for cheating an online website to the tune of Rs 1.2 lac.
The duo Harsh Gupta (22) and Lakshay Gupta (20) had ordered a camera costing Rs 1.2 lac from an online shopping site. They returned the product within a week saying that the one supplied is defective. The portal promptly supplied the duo with replacement. However, when the online shopping site checked the returned camera by the duo, it came to light that the camera that was returned was fake and not the original one supplied by the company.
The online portal promptly filed a complaint with Calangute police, which traced the fraudsters and arrested them.
