Kasargod, Nov 1: The Central Bureal of Investigation (CBI) team, entrusted with the task of investigating the murder of Abdul Basheer alias Abdul Jabbar (24), secretary of Perla unit of the Youth Congress, has taken into possession two iron rods used to kill the youth leader.
In a report filed with the CBI court in Ernakulam, the team lead by CBI inspector, K J Darwin, said that the rods were recovered on the basis of information given by Mahesh, an accused, who is under arrest. The CBI officials told the court that the accused had confessed to have used two knives and two iron rods to Kill Jabbar. The rods were taken into possession form an undisclosed destination.
Jabbar had been murdered by hired killers, who intercepted his car, on November 3 last year. 52 stab marks were found on his body. Investigations have pointed out that political enmity was the motive of the murder, and that the local leaders of CPM had hatched the murder plan.
