Mangalore, Nov 1: M Narendra is set to take over as the new chairman and managing director of Indian Overseas Bank on Monday November 1, at the bank’s head office at Chennai. He was functioning as the executive director of Bank of India before being posted to Indian Overseas Bank.
Narendra, a commerce graduate from Mysore University, later secured his law degree from the same university in 1977. He completed his CAIIB course in 1979. He joined Corporation Bank as officer trainee in 1975, and worked there till being appointed as the executive director of Bank of India in 2008.
Narendra had worked as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee on money, foreign exchange and government securities market of Reserve Bank of India. He also had been a member of Basle-II Implementation and Risk Management Committee of Indian Banks Association.
