Moodbidri: Dazzling Cultural Treat on Day One of Alva's Nudisiri 2010

Moodbidri, Oct 30: The cultural extravaganza on the first day of Alva's Nudisiri 2010 on Friday October 29 lived up to the expectations of all the art lovers assembled at the venue.
Carnatic vocalist Vidyabhushan, who performed at the Ratnakaravarni stage mesmerized the music lovers with his simple and distinct rendition of Purandaradasa and Kanakadasa kritis for over one-and-half hours. His rendition of Satyavantara sanghaviralu by Kanakadasa and Pillangoviya by Purandaradasa were very impressive and turned many nostalgic. After the semi-classical treat, on the stage was presented the flavour of Badagutittu Yakshgana.
Hidimba Vivaha staged by the artistes of Yakshagana Kendra, MGM College, Udupi left the viewers impressed.
Meanwhile, dance extravaganza was presented at the Ku Shi Haridas Bhatta stage. While ballet, Punyakoti choreographed by Sridhar Holla and Pratima Holla by Bharatanjali team, Mangalore was a treat for all the Bharatanatyam lovers. Neat choreography and almost flawless performances by the students made this ballet immensely watchable. On the other hand, ballet Nava Vidha Bhakti by Sri Mookambika Nritya Vidyalaya, Puttur was enderable with its freshness. These performaces are sure to be remembered by the connoiseurs of art in the years to come.
The other cultural celebrations of the day were, Moksha Sangrama, Yakshagana talamaddale with participation of Padyana Ganapati Bhat as Bhagavat at the Karkala Panduranga Prabhu stage, Kannada Kavya Sangeeta conceptualized by Shankar Shanbhag and sang by Ravi Muroor, Sunita and Anupama Rao and Samskrutika Vaibhav by the students of the Alva's Education Foundation at the K V Subbanna Bayalu Rangamandira, which were highly entertaining with its sheer variety.
