Mangaluru, Oct 19: Kathabindu Prakashana Mangaluru celebrated their fourteenth anniversary at Tulu Bhavan, Urva Stores here recently.
In the Tulu – Kannada literary festival held by the Karnataka government’s department of Kannada and culture and Tulu Sahitya Academy in the cooperation of Kalkura Prathistana, Mangaluru, Mumbai’s active social worker Dr Rajani V Pai was felicitated with ‘Chaitanyashree Sevarathna’ special honour.
Tulu Sahitya Academcy president Dayananda G Kattalsar, Kannada Sahitya Parishat central committee former president Harikrishna Punarooru, Former president of Thia Samaja, Mumbai, Chandrashekar R Belchada, Akhila Bharath Tulu Okkoota honorary chief secretary Nitte Shashidhar Shetty, Kalkura Prathistana president S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Dr Suresh Negalaguli, Bhivanabhirama Udupa, CA S S Nayak, P V Pradeep Kumar, Jaya Shanker Basrithaya, Narendra Kerekadu and others were present.
Dr Pai hailing from Siddapur taluk, Uttara Kannada district settled in Mumbai after marriage. She indulged in the service of Dalits and poor people in Mumbai across religions, castes and creeds during Corona pandemic. She helped Adivasis and the poor spread around Mumbai and distributed essential items and food. She had arranged to send mid-day meals and vegetables to the door steps of several poor and needy people. She had arranged ticket fare for people travelling to their hometown, medicines for the elderly and has provided help in various other ways.
