Mangalore: Namma Kudla’s Gudu Deepa Contest on Nov 4

Mangalore, Oct 28: The 11th annual ‘Goodu Deepa’ competition will be held at the premises of Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday Nov 4, informed Kadri Navaneeth Shetty at a press conference, here.
He said that the competitions will be in three categories viz. traditional, modern and special model. The Gudu Deepas will be kept for public viewing. All the participants will be presented with the mementoes, he added.
First and second prize winners will be awarded with gold medal and there will be ten consolation prizes too, he added. All the participants are requested to bring the materials needed, where as electricity will be provided by the organizers.
Interested can register their names at the venue before 4 pm on Thursday Nov 4. Participants who bring more ‘Gudu Deepas’ will be awarded with special prizes. The event will be telecasted live in Namma Kudla and V4 Channel.
The prizes will be given at the valedictory of the competition on Friday Nov 16 at 8 pm.
Award Giving Ceremony:
The prestigious Namma Tuluver Award will be conferred to Dr Dayanand Pai, the managing director of the century builders. Namma Kudla 2010 Award will be conferred to Drama Writer Devadas Kapikad. Namma Kudla Honor Award will be conferred to Chandrashekar Suvarna of Suvarna Arts Mulki, and Bala Prathibhe Award will be conferred to Mayuri Ullal.
A programme titled ‘Tulu Sangeetha Vaibhava’ will be presented by Rajesh and team. Later a dance will be performed by Dinesh Attavar, Kumari Vibhalaxmi and Mayuri Ullal.
Director Harish Karkera, Suresh Karkera, professor M S Kotian, Mohan Karkera, Leelaksha Karkera and Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli among others were present at the press meet.
