Dubai, Oct 5: The Kannada Paatashale, Dubai which is popular for its free weekend Kannada classes has opened its door for its 8th year academic registrations. The Kannada paatashale is popular as the world’s largest free Kannada teaching center abroad conducted by Kannada Mitraru –UAE, the firm aims at teaching Kannadalanguage, a regional language of south Indian state - Karnataka. They have been successfully running classes for the past 7 years and moved ahead for another world record.
This time students can register through online portal for their admissions, which was officially launched by the Praveen Kumar Shetty, president, KNRI forum, UAE and Narasimha Murthy, vice president, KNRI forum, UAE, the great supporters of Kannada Mitraru along with Shashidhar Nagarajappa, president, Kannada Mitraru Dubai, participated in the inaugural programme held at the Fortune Atrium Hotel Dubai on October 2.
The school introduction was presented by Siddalingesh B R, vice president, Kannada Mitraru Dubai and Sunil Gavaskar shared and explained the assistance and help done by Kannada Mitraru for the rural education development and during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Roopa Shashidhar, the head of the volunteered teachers, has given the introduction of all 20+ teachers and shared the details of the preparation for the 8th year academic activity.
The whole programme was hosted by Banu Kumar, media councilor, and Nagaraj Rao, treasurer, welcomed and thanked the dignitaries and all the participants of the event.
As per the media statement released, academic classes for the year 2021-22, will start from November 12, 2020 and the learning sessions will be through online, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiation taken by the Kannada Mitraru team with a clear vision of teaching mother tongue to the next generation was started with 40 students in 2014. It is remarkable that this academic year registration has crossed 300 entries in a single day. The classes will be conducted on weekend (Friday) online by a self-motivated, dedicated and volunteer teaching team who reserve their Friday’s for teaching.
“It is appreciable that teachers are handing the classes for free of cost and as a part of community service and spirit and support of team has helped us to spread our mother tongue to next generations,”stated Shashidhar Nagarajappa, president of Kannada Mitraru – UAE , who always dedicates the credit to the entire team.
The students will be divided based on their prior knowledge of Kannada, namely primary class (Prarthamika), middle class (Madyamika), and higher classes (Prowda) where Kannada alphabets, formation of sentences, short stories, puzzles and others will be taught.
