Dubai, Oct 4: Konkan Yuva, the youth wing of St Mary’s Konkani Community Dubai, established on February 4, 2005 for the youth belonging to the Konkan region which bring together the youth of the society with the motto 'Home away from Home'.
Konkan Yuva (A Dynamic Youth group in St Mary's Catholic Church - Dubai), organized a KY Badminton Tournament on Friday October 1, 2021 .
A total of 55 Badminton Teams battled the courts with the aim of winning the cup. There were 40 men's teams and 15 women's teams of highly skilled player using a variety of strokes, good defence, smashing and slicing match after match which made it quite gripping and intense to watch.
The tournament was officially inaugurated by konkan yuva former presidents - Josna Martis, Godwin Castelino, Vivian Fernandes and president Viyon Robin Veigues.
President Viyon Robin Veigues welcomed the gathering. General secretary Anisha D’Almeida, sports secretary Johnson Dsouza, vice president Denzil Moras, treasurer Benzeeta Dsouza, cultural secretary Vinette Lobo, media secretary Alicia Pereira, liturgy secretary Farell Dsouza, joint secretary Lavita D’souza and IPP Vivian Fernandes were present during the inaugural and closure ceremony.
Prize distribution ceremony and valedictory at 19:00 hrs was graced by the chief guests – Deepak Machado and Godwin Castelino.

Runner up : Dynamic Duo ( Melvis Pinto and Nikita)
Second Runner-up : DMC 2 ( Shrutiand Devina), Team Angels ( Prima and Cresilla).

First Place : PWC ( Joyston and Shyam)
Runner up : Badminton Veterans ( Clayton and Anil)
Second Runner-up : Macha'sand Kudle Smashers ( Meldrin and Vignesh).
