Wednesday Oct 20, the team of Mangalore police seized thousands of fake CDs in raid conducted at music CD shop near Clock Tower and Saibeen complex in city, police told on Thursday October 21.
The raids were led by police officer Sunder, Ravi, Dayanand, Dinesh with the help of other staff. Separate cases have been registered against accused Ganapathi Kini in Mangalore North station and against
Ramanath Kini in Barke police station.
Speaking to presspersons, police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said that more than 4,000 counterfeit CDs including obscene and pirated CDs of Kannada, Hindi, English, Malayalam, Telugu languages and also of recently releases movies have been seized. The CDs seized from Shivam music centre are worth Rs 4,72,500 and those sized from Satyam cassette shop are worth Rs 2,43,500.
