M'luru: Stranger places writings praising Christianity at houses in Ullal, tense situation prevails

Mangaluru, Sep 24: An unknown man placed books and pamphlets glorifying Christian religion on the gates of more than 15 houses behind Someshwar railway station on the morning of Friday September 24. Tension prevailed in the locality due to this incident.

Bajrang Dal unit of Ullal visited the locality and took all the material into their possession. They are trying to contact the person whose mobile number is mentioned on the pamphlets.

It is gathered, on Friday morning, a man wearing lungi placed pamphlets and books written in Kannada and Malayalam on the gates of 15 houses near Someshwar railway station. An elderly woman noticed him and thought that he was a salesman and said that she does not want anything. But he still kept pamphlets and stickers on the gate of her house and escaped from the spot.

Due to the act of the stranger, a tense situation prevailed in the area. It is accused by locals that these books and pamphlets are kept with the intention of religious conversion. Bajrang Dal activists of Ullal gathered on the spot. Information was relayed to Ullal police station also.

Distributing pamphlets is not a crime. It is upto you to go through it or not. Everyone is free to preach and practice religion. The apprehensions of a few only shows their insecurity. If your own religion is strong in its roots you need not worry about others religions. You have a right to study all the religions and accept what is best for you, appealing to your conscience. I dont find any fault in the gentleman who placed those pamphlets there. Perhaps, he was scarred because of the prevailing conditions in our country to distribute it openly . God save our country.

I would love to read those books and pamphlets. Earlier, all grocery items would be wrapped in news paper pieces. I have grown up with a habit of reading everything on those paper pieces. I have a copy of bible and quran on my desktop. Reading is interesting, never felt the religion I am born with, is any inferior to others.

Sharath...listen. some members belonging to other sects keep coming to our houses also with pamphlets, leaflets, booklets and start preaching even after knowing we are Roman catholics. We dont entertain them at all. By their arrival or by their preaching, no one will get converted unless otherwise the listener is interested in the religion. Our area no one entertain them. Ours is mixed area. Till now no one got converted to Christianity.

mithun...gujarat is peaceful state because saffron party is ruling there..they were the trouble makers..when they rule they do not create ruckus..very simple..similarly samjautha express blast was carried out when Congress was in power..the people who carried out that were hardcore right wing extremists...now bacchali party is in power so all cool...once they lose power they will start such kind of things...simple to understand...isnt it?
