Bantwal, Sep 24: P Krishna Bhat from Panjigadde in Kodapadavu in the taluk has been made permanent judge of the state high court.
He was appointed as additional judge of the high court last year. Justice P Krishna Bhat happens to be the third of the four children of P Narayana Bhat and Parameshwari couple from Saravu House in Panjigadde. Born on August 8, 1960, Justice Bhat has a sister and two brothers.
He studied in the government higher primary school, Kodapadavu and completed secondary education in Vittal junior college. Later, he studied science in the PU section of Karkala Bhuvanendra College and secured BSc degree from St Aloysius College Mangaluru. Being interested in the study of law, he secured law degree from Banaras Hindu University and practised law in Mangaluru from 1986 to 1989 under senior advocate, Nooiyi Srinivas Rao.
From 1989 to 1998, he was high court advocate. In June 1998, he became the district judge. He also discharged duty as the registrar general and director of Karnataka Judicial Academy. He lives in Bengaluru with wife, son and a daughter.
