Puttur, Sep 21: Abuses were hurled at a woman who was having food with her colleague and one more friend in a hotel in the city by a gang of five men. In addition, the gang also assaulted her friend.
According to the details of the complaint filed by Rajeshwari (36), resident of Anekal, Bengaluru, she arrived in Puttur on the morning of September 18, in order to get the possession of her car, which was confiscated by Puttur police.

Rajeshwari was accompanied by her colleagues, Shiva, resident of Kottigeri in Bengaluru and U K Mohammed Arafat, resident of Ullal. All the three were residing in Ashmi Lodge of the city. On September 20, when all three were having food at around 7 pm in the lodge, a gang of five people, out of the 10 men who were standing outside the lodge approached them and asked the name and address of the complainant and also of that of the male companions and started abusing the woman. They beat Shiva, colleague of the complainant. In addition, the strangers also took photographs of the woman and her colleagues from their mobile and insulted them.
A case in this regard is filed at Puttur town police station.
