Bengaluru, Sep 20: State minister for education, B C Nagesh, addressed a press conference on Monday September 20 in which he announced the publication of the second PU result.
Results of private students, those who had rejected the result, and repeat students have been announced.
A total of 18,414 students had registered themselves for the examination including 17,470 private students, 351 repeaters and 592 freshers. A total of 5,507 students have cleared the examination while 12,906 failed, the minister said.

A number of students who had opted to reject the second PU result announced earlier and face the examination afresh, have performed exceedingly well. Accordingly, examination had been conducted in 187 examination centres spread all over the state.
In the science stream, 573 happens to be the highest marks scored by a student while the same in 592 for arts department and 594 in commerce department.
The students can view their results by visiting http://karresults.nic.in. They also get their result by SMS which will also be sent to the mobile numbers of the parents, the minister said.
Out of the freshers who appeared for the examination, 556 have passed. Among the repeaters, 183 out of 351 passed and 168 have failed. As many as 17,470 private students took the examination and 4,768 among them have passed, the minister said. He also added that 580 got distinction and 1,939 have passed in first class. 1,578 got second class and 1,410 got third class. Pass percentage is 29.91 percent. As many as 70.83 percent in the science department have passed while 29.98 percent in commerce department also cleared the examination. The pass percentage in the arts department is 32.06 percent. A total of 36.72 percent girls passed the examination while the percentage is 26.02 percent for boys. Rural students registered 32.59 percent pass result and in urban areas, the percentage is 26.62.
