Bengaluru, Sep 19: Congress leaders and members are disappointed with leader of opposition Siddaramaiah and KPCC president D K Shivakumar, who are planning to bring in JD (S) MLAs and provide them ticket for forthcoming assembly elections, sources say.
Congress leaders who have engaged in politics against the JD(S) in respective constituencies are worried about their future due to this intended move of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar.
Party sources said that local leaders have decided to approach Congress high command and pressure it not to give assurance of assembly election tickets to migrants who are planning to join the party from JD(S) and BJP.
Recently, former union minister K H Muniyappa, former minister Naseer Ahmed and other district Congress leaders of Kolar had met D K Shivakumar and expressed their concerns over the discussions of taking MLA Srinivasa Gowda and MLC V Manohar into the party. Similarly it is learnt that Congress workers in Tumakuru and Mysuru are also planning to raise the issue with high command.
As per the strategy Congress is trying to take in Sharath Bacchegowda of Hoskote, G T Devegowda, Srinivasa Gowda and Gubbi Srinivas in order to strengthen the party in Mysuru region. It is also said that the next step is the inclusion of Gubbi Vasu, MLCs Bemel Kantaraj and V Manohar.
The second stage of 'Operation Hand' is going to start after April 2022, sources say. As per reliable sources there are 10 MLAs of BJP and JD(S) in the list.
