Mangaluru, Sep 17: The valedictory of a month-long training for aspirants to the post of constables and sub-inspectors, was held at St Aloysius Gonzaga hall on Friday September 17.
Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Dr Veerendra Heggade lighted the lamp to begin the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Heggade said, “Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has become the son of Dakshina Kannada since taking over the commissioner’s post. It is always good to see his love towards Tulu language and its culture. It was a tough training for the aspirants for the last one month. Despite being tough, none of the aspirants stepped back midway which is always a good sign. It is a very good profession to serve the society.
“Unfortunately, a few movies project police for comic relief, while few movies highlight them in a respectable manner. It will dangerous if people’s mindset start changing towards police and take them lightly after watching such movies,” he said.
