Bengaluru, Sep 14: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday described senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes as a friend to all with no enemies.
Speaking to reporters in the Vidhana Soudha during the ongoing legislature session, the Chief Minister said the Rajya Sabha member from Udupi hailed from an ordinary family and grew up in popularity due to his service and loyalty to the party.
“Oscar Fernandes had great love and affection for Kannada and Karnataka,’’ he said and lauded the contribution of the senior Congress leader as Union Minister for the development of the State.
Bommai said Oscar Fernandes was a mild mannered and multi-faceted personality, who had good personal relations with leaders of all political parties and had no enemies.
“All of us have lost a great leader,’’ he said praying for his bereaved family to bear the loss.
