Weekend curfew lifted in all border districts including Dakshina Kannada

Bengaluru, Sep 9: The state government has issued order on cancellation of weekend curfew imposed on the borders of the districts sharing the neighbouring states.

This decision has been taken as the positivity rate is decreasing in the state. The positivity rate in the state is 0.73% at present.

In districts where curfew imposed, the positivity rate is below 2%. Thus, the weekend curfew has been removed.

If the cases increases, the deputy commissioners of concerned districts can impose the weekend curfew.

It may be recalled, weekend curfew was placed in districts bordering Kerala namely Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Mysuru, and Chamarajanagar, and districts Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bidar, and Kalaburagi bordering Maharashtra earlier in August due to high Covid cases.

    75% SERO Positive rate means we did not control it..and 3/4 of our people have been exposed. While Kerala is on 44% , looks like Kerala and Maharastra are paying price of better management with very less deaths and no run in oxygen and beds.

    Inspite of knowing very well that the infections swelling up in neighbouring Kerala along with eruption of Nipah, after Onam festival, here we are fully relaxing the lockdown because of obvious reasons, to woo the majority vote bank!

    i can only say that the successive bjp leaders are totally brainless, senseless and clueless about the administration..they impose curfew and withdraw it as their own MLAs like RAghupati Bhat threaten that it is not right.. at one end they open schools at other end they force people to wear mask..totally no coordination between their speech at all.. god save this karunadu from these kind of insane people and party..

    Everyday all sorts of irrational and unscientific directives are issued by politicians and bureaucrats. People are totally confused about the massive disruptions caused by contradictory orders issued on a daily basis. If masks are worn and crowding regulated, things should be in control. Weekend lockdowns are absolutely foolish and serve no purpose.

    Week End, month end, year end etc. ! This time it is lifted as vote bank too was showing signs of frustration and anger against these unscientific orders. Time to learn lesson put pressure on the politicians and see them panic and stop their draconian antipeople measures.     Cases will increase within 1 week if people dont follow covid protocols. Wearing mask, washing hands can control covid .
