Mangaluru, Aug 27: The valedictory and initiation of post-graduate (PG) diploma in guidance and counselling for the year 2019-20 and 2021-22 respectively, was held at St Agnes PG and Research Centre on Friday August 27.
As many as 20 participants cleared their PG diploma in guidance and counselling and 18 participants initiated the new academic year 2021-22.
DCP law and order Hariram Shankar inaugurated the programme.
Addressing the gathering, DCP law and order Hariram Shankar said, “Counselling is all about trust and how you gain that trust. In the process of counselling, you people can save someone’s life as you deal with their problems. A person’s happiness or sadness, success or failure, can actually be moulded the way you counsel.”
Principal of St Agnes College Dr Venessa A C said, “Today, there is a need of guidance and counselling because of the present scenario of pandemic. Students are into online classes. Meanwhile, many parents are taking their children to psychologists as many students are likely to encounter some serious issue in the future.”
Hazel Concessao introduced the chief guest DCP Hariram Shankar and Prathibha introduced the guest of honor Dr Venessa A C.
Veena Barnes compered the programme, Radhika welcomed the gathering and Pooja rendered the vote of thanks.
Course coordinator Lugina Miranda, former cordinator Sr Marie Evelyn, St Agnes College were present.
