Mangaluru, Aug 26: Sri Rama Sene warned of protests if the state government does not permit the public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
Addressing media here on Thursday August 26, Sri Rama Sene state secretary Anand Shetty Adyar said, “Due to Covid pandemic, the government has not allowed public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. The pandemic has affected thousands of people and many have lost their livelihood. Many families’ lives are at stake as they are dependent on idol making, decoration, sounds and lighting during this celebration.”
He also urged the state government to permit Ganesh Chaturthi celebration as per Covid protocols similarly to how the government allowed malls, theatres, school, colleges, elections and political functions.
Sri Rama Sene warned of protest on August 30 in fornt of BJP MLA’s office and urge the government to permit for Ganesh Chaturthi celebration.
District president Pradeep Mudushedde, district vice president Harish Bokkapatna, district organizing secretary Kishore Sanil and town secretary Venkatesh Padiyar were present.
