Panaji: Prester Estibeiro Wins All Goa YMCA Charcoal, Pencil Drawing Contest

Panaji, Sep 28: Prester C S Estibeiro of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panaji, bagged the first prize in the junior college/college category at the All Goa YMCA (Panjim) Charcoal and Pencil Drawing Competition held at YMCA International Hall, Campal, recently.

The second and third prizes went to Avishya Shetty of DCT Vasantrao Dempo College, and Deepika J Chari of Thivim, respectively.

In all, 93 participants took part in the competition from different schools and colleges of Goa. There was an open category also for the general public. The event was organized by YMCA, Panaji. The work of these budding and experienced artists was judged by prominent artists of Goa.

In the high school category, first, second and third place went to Pauras Pankaj Narvekar, Altinho, Panjim, Vrushab Sanzgiri, Sansodo Margao, Manovikas and Raiee Galgali, Our Lady of Rosary High School. In the open category, the first three prizes were awarded to Alston Rodrigues, Mansion Campal, Santosh Parodkar, Mallar–Corlim, and Jeetu Sumanta Ahire, Panaji, respectively.

A consolation prize was awarded to Malcolm S Rebello of Aldona. Renowned architect Ooty Soares was the chief guest gave away the prizes to the winners. Earlier, the president of the YMCA (Panaji) P M Vaz welcomed and vice-president Luigi Ferrao proposed the vote of thanks.
