Mumbai, Aug 20: Agripada police are investigating accusations of cheating and forgery against 42 doctors for allegedly submitting fake PG certificates in order to practice as specialists.
Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) received the PG diploma certificates from the alleged doctors who claimed to have passed the same from a college in Parel. When MMC checked with the institute none of the 42 doctors were on the list of people who have passed PG from the said college. The disciplines in which the doctors claimed to have passed the PG diploma were Gynaecology, general surgery, Caridology and Ophthalmology.
Giving information a police officer said that the investigation is in its primary stages and the accused are sent notice to attend for investigation. It is learnt that some of the doctors are already practicing.
