Karnataka reports 1,632 fresh Covid cases, DK records single-day highest in state yet again

Bengaluru, Aug 14: Karnataka on Saturday, Aug 14 registered 1,632 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 22,698. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 377 and Dakshina Kannada reported 411 cases.

As many as 25 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Saturday, with Bengaluru Urban recording one death, the death toll in the state has risen to 36,958.

The state recorded 1,612 discharges from hospitals on Saturday, taking the total discharges to 28,68,351.

So far, Karnataka has seen 29,28,033 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 1.04% while the case fatality rate for the day is 1.53%.

As many as 3,44,05,813 people have received vaccination so far.

    We know that the 3 rd wave is starting. We should be clever enough to be safe. Our children should be safe at home. Government should never open schools and should close all malls , theatres and shops. No buses also. Complete lockdown is the solution. I hope you all understand the seriousness
