Bahrain, Sep 24 (GDN): REHEARSALS are continuing in full swing for a popular Tulu language drama being staged at the Indian Club, Manama next month.
Organised by the Tulu Koota cultural association, the Megha Murari is being staged to entertain the local Tulu community, said officials.
"Our main aim is to entertain the Tuluva community in Bahrain by presenting a time-tested quality play," said chief organiser and play director Mohandas Rai.
"Following last year's huge success with the play Ajjig Yerla Ijji, this year we expect a packed house.
"We are very sure Megha Murari will definitely leave the audience spellbound."
Written by playwright Surendra Kumar Kalathrapade, the play is a favourite back in Tulunadu, India.
Celebrity Tulu dramatist Roopa Vorkady, who has already flown in for the event, will perform in the lead female role, while local actors Santhosh Nayak, Lakshmish Kumble and Naveen Shetty also play key roles.
Indian dramatist and music director R K Belvai will handle musical duties.
"The much-awaited play is all about the misery of family life, protection of social values and of course it's got a happy ending after all the highs and lows in the storyline," said event co-ordinator Leeladhar Baikampady.
"We at Tulu Koota assure that all drama lovers will surely have a relaxed weekend and Megha Murari will certainly entertain audience of all ages."
The play will be staged from 7pm on October 1 at the club's auditorium and doors will open at 6pm.
