Aug 12: DK records 475 new Covid cases, Udupi tally rises by 191; 6 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 12: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, August 12 reported 475 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 1,04,732. The positivity rate of the district is 4.25%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 13,67,024 samples have been tested, of which 12,62,292 are negative.

There are currently 3,595 active cases in the district.

As many as 354 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday and raising the number of recoveries to 99,650.

The district recorded five deaths due to coronavirus on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,487. 

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,02,83,670 in fines for 84,470 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 8,35,651 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 191 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 71,357 out of which 1259 are currently active.

A total of 136 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total recoveries to 69,667.

Coronavirus has claimed 431 lives in the district so far.

5,60,694 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 2,04,955 have received the second dose.

    How many people have been tested in DK basis which the Test Positivity Rate is 4.25. These two figures are corelated.08019
