New Delhi, Aug 12: As many as six officers from Karnataka are selected for union home minister's ‘Medal for Excellence in Investigation’ 2021.
Assistant commissioner of police (ACP) central under Mangaluru police commissionerate Parameshwar Ananth Hegde is one among the six, who has been selected for the award.
The other five recipients are HM Dharmendra, ACP CCB Bengaluru; Balakrishna C, DySP STF, BDA Bengaluru; Manoj N Hovale, inspector SIT, KLA Bengaluru; Devaraj TV, inspector, Honnali Circle Davangere; and Shivappa Satteppa Kamatagi, inspector, old Hubli police station, Hubballi.
Hegde has served in the department as sub-inspector in Bunder, Bantwal town and circle inspector in Mulki. He was chosen for the award for solving the case of kidnap and murder which took place in 2008. The high court upheld the case and convicted the accused in the case on February 28, 2020.
