Bengaluru, Aug 11: Minister for Ecology, Environment and Tourism Anand Singh, who is irate as he did not get the portfolio which he desired for has given an ultimatum to chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai and threatened to resign if his demand is not met.
Anand Singh had indirectly expressed with his close aides that he was neglected during the cabinet formation. Singh also conveyed his unhappiness to CM Bommai. Rumours are rife among BJP cadres that he has resigned and has given a deadline of August 15 for Bommai to accept his resignation or allocate him the portfolio which he has demanded. However, Anand Singh was not available to the media for his reaction and verification of these rumours. There is no clarification to this effect from the office of the CM also.

It is said that Anand Singh has asked for an energy portfolio. According to his close aides, CM Bommai has asked Anand Singh to have patience as portfolio change cannot be done locally as the same needs to be discussed with top brasses at national level.
Anand Singh met CM Bommai on August 8, along with his wife and explained to him the assurances given by former CM Yediyurappa as well as top brasses of BJP to bring BJP into power in the state.
It is learnt that revenue minister R Ashok and housing minister V Somanna tried to pacify Anand Singh. But Singh expressed his grief by saying that they will not understand his pain as they were not there when he resigned from the post of Congress MLA.
Some MLAs who did not get the positions have gone to Delhi. Once they return, CM Bommai is planning to go to Delhi. MLAs Ramesh Jarkiholi, C P Yogeshwar and Renukacharya are in Delhi at present.
In the midst of this, it is said that more political developments in state BJP after August 13. Ramesh Jarkiholi and C P Yogeshwar will return to Bengaluru on that day. It is learnt that the internal turmoil in BJP will worsen if the issues are not resolved by then.
