Mangalore, Sep 22: The Navaratri Mahotsav will be held at Kudroli Gokarnanatha Temple here from Friday October 8.
District Congress general secretary Harikrishna Bantwal said on Tuesday September 21 that the Navaratri programme will begin from Friday October 8 and nine idols depicting the various incarnations of Goddess Durga including Sharada Mata, will be installed in the temple hall and offered ‘pooja’ every day.
The programme will continue till Monday October 18 and the nine-day festivities will include several religious and cultural programmes.
On the tenth day of the festival, a grand procession will start at 4.00 pm from Kudroli Temple and pass through Lady Hill, M G Road, Ram Bhavan Circle, and Hampankatta before returning to Kudroli Temple where the nine deities prepared from clay will be immersed in water.
H S Sairam, president and administrative officer, Sri Gokarnanatha Temple, Raghavendra Kulur, vice-president, and B Madhav Suvarna, secretary were present at the press meet.
