Mangalore, Sep 20: A college bus belonging to a private education institution, with about 35 students on board, teetered at the edge of a gorge in Valachil, near Adyar, on the evening of Monday September 20.
The driver of the bus, owned by city-based Srinivas College, encountered technical difficulties while negotiating a dangerous curve. However, he succeeded in stopping the bus a few meters from the gorge thanks to his presence of mind.
The bus was transporting the students back to the hostels in the city from their college located in Valacchilpadav, near here. Some of the students sustained minor injuries, seven of whom have been hospitalized and are under observation.
