Beltangady, Sep 20: Rashtriya Surkasha Yatra, youth walkathon for national security will be held in two stages beginning from Sunday October 5 in order to educate the youth on the threats to internal security of our country, said BJP Yuva Morcha state president and Karkala former MLA Sunil Kumar.
He was presiding over the divisional meeting of Yuva Morcha inclusive of Dakshina Kannada (DK), Udupi and Kodagu districts held at Havyaka Bhavan, Guruvayankere here on Monday September 20. "The terrorism that was hitherto restricted to a few regions has spread throughout the country. Thousands of lives are being lost due to serial bombs. The naxal movement further is trying to destabilize the country," he said.
In his inaugural address, BJP leader and lawyer Pratapsimha Nayak said that the goals clearly drawn can be achieved with principles and ideals in life. The evil forces in the form of naxlas, jihadis and the so-called intellectuals collaborate for their evil plans, he noted. He called on youth to wage a united fight against the destructive forces operating in the guise of various organizations.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLA K Prabhakar Bangera, Yuva Morcha DK district president Kishore Kumar, Kodagu district president Bharatesh and Udupi district president Vilas Kumar were also present.
Yuva Morcha state vice-president Dr Bharat Shetty delivered the introductory address.
The taluk Yuva Morcha president Ranjan G Gowda welcomed the gathering. The taluk panchayat member Vijay Gowda compered the programme. The chief secretary Pramod Kumar proposed the vote of thanks.
Rashtriya Suraksha Yatra
The first stage of Yatra will begin from Kodagu on Tuesday October 5, Hassan on October 6, Mandya on October 7, Tumkur on October 8, Chitradurga, Davangere and Shimoga on October 9, Teerthahalli and Chikmagalur on October 10, Mudigere, Beltangady, Moodbidri and Udupi on October 11 and concludes in Mangalore after covering Udupi, Kaup and Suratkal on Friday October 12.
The second stage of yatra will begin from Bidar covering Gulbarga on Saturday October 8, Yadgiri and Raichur on October 9, Gangavati and Gadag on October 10, Rona, Bagalkot and Bijapur on October 11, Athani, Nippani and Belgaum on October 12, Sirsi and Haveri on October 13 and conclude at Dharwad on Thursday October 14.
