Mangaluru, Aug 5: Dakshina Kannada district administration is enforcing tighter Covid rules in the light of worsening coronavirus scenario.
Kateel Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple, Dharmasthala Lord Manjunatheshwara temple and Kukke Lord Subrahmanya temple will be open only between 7 am and 7 pm from Thursday August 5 to August 15. During this period, it is mandatory to follow social distance norms and other precautionary measures when paying obeisance to the presiding and family deities. At the same time, Theertha and Prasadam will not be dispensed and community feast will remain cancelled. At the same time, entry of devotees into temples on Saturdays and Sundays has been barred. The lodges in the temple towns are restrained from renting out rooms during the weekends. No festivities are allowed and only the customary services by the priests is allowed.

On days other than weekends, those willing to reside in lodges have to subject themselves to RT-PCR tests and produce negative reports. No additional persons will be accommodated in rooms and the rooms have to be sanitized before giving them on hire. The devotees have always to wear masks without fail, as per an order passed by deputy commissioner, Dr Rajendra K V.
