Mangaluru, Jul 31: "Students are not able to avail education loans under Arivu scheme from the banks. For the development of skill of youth, loans under the MUDRA scheme are not being released adequately. The government should solve the problem faced by the students and youth through the district administration," said MLA U T Khader.

Addressing the media on Saturday July 31, he said, “After the Arivu scheme came to a halt, students who want to pursue medical, engineering and professional courses are facing problems. In this regard, the district administration should solve the issue. They should hold a meeting with senior bank officials.

“There is confusion on the stand of the government over the payment of students’ fees in private schools and parents are under mental trauma. The number of students wishing to join the government schools are increasing. But, due to lack of basic infrastructure, parents are caught up in a problem. Congress has set up a committee to guide students legally. The government should take appropriate decisions to solve these problems,” he said.

Taking a dig at the BJP-led state government, Khader said, "People are questioning the existence of the government in the state because the administration is so inactive.

“The state government under the leadership of B S Yediyurappa completely failed in all fields of the administration. Their party members are giving open statements over corruption. Even a letter had been written to the governor. Such incidents were never reported in the country. Yediyurappa’s own party leaders were in forefront to tarnish his image."

"The state and union governments have failed to tackle the Covid-19 situation in the country and the state. Our state has not received its right share in GST and the compensation for loss due to flood. Our MPs are directly responsible for this. As the government failed to tackle The Covid situation in an effective manner, several people lost their lives. Several countries have banned Indians’ entry,” Khader alleged.

He further said, “Constructing a fruit market at the cost of Rs 10.50 crore with tax collected from the farmers in the APMC yard at Baikampady is mere waste. The government should not waste farmers' money this way. A high level committee should be formed and a report should be sought. Earlier, the APMC was constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore, out of which several shops have not been used. Moreover, 50 percent of them who have taken the shops have not started their business. Hence, a high level committee should probe this issue,”he demanded.

Former taluk panchayat president Mohammed Monu, Congress leader Eshwar Ullal, Dinesh Kumpala, Devananda Shetty, and others were present.
