Mangalore, Sep 18: Speaking to media persons here on Friday September 17, Rajeswarachary, engineer and representative, IVRCL (infrastructure and projects limited), said that he suspects political involvement in his kidnap.
Rajeswarachary, who was deputed for submission of the tender for work on the MSEZL river water pipeline conveyance system, was kidnapped on August 16, 2010.
He added that despite a complaint being lodged in Barke police station, the police are not actively pursuing the case and this strengthens his suspicions.
The miscreants had followed Rajeshwarachary to Mangalore from Bangalore. He was followed till he reached Kavitha Lodge in the city at 6.00 am. After he reached the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) office and was registering his details in the SEZ entry book, he was kidnapped by some unknown people. This happened before he submitted the tender, following the instructions of the officials.
Rajeswarachary was taken to Kateel and Mulky in an Alto car with the number KA 19 P 8308 and was dropped back near Alukkas. He was taken to Sugama bus stop and the abductors brought his luggage and checked him out from the lodge late at night.
Rajeswarachary said someone in the bidders list did not want him to submit the tender; the whole tender process had taken place as they did not want to be a part of carter tending. “This might be the reason for competitiveness of the tender prices”, he added.
D N Satish, senior manager, IVRCL, added that the abduction was a well-planned one.
