Sullia, Sep 17: In a strange incident, difference of opinion between a youth and his father over a frivolous issue culminated in the murder of the father. Babu Gowda (65), who was hit on his head with a ladle by his son, Harishchandra (29), on Monday, breathed his last in a hospital in Puttur on Wednesday September 15.
The incident occurred in Kebbody of Yenekal village near Subrahmanya. Harishchandra, who works as a cooly, wanted to make an omelette out of the freshly laid egg of a hen in the house. As his father objected to it, he entered into a verbal duel with Babu Gowda, and later, hit him with a ladle, injuring him badly. Babu Gowda was rushed to a private hospital in Puttur. But he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Harishchandra, who was arrested by the policemen on the charge of murder, was produced in a court here on Thursday. He has been remanded to judicial custody till September 29.
