Mangaluru, Jul 29: A lady has filed in the women's police station at Pandeshwar here in which she said a man took her away in a car after winning over her trust and then raped her inside the car. She also said that the man asked her to marry him failing which he threatened of murdering her. The accused has been identified as Prashanth Appu from Kulur here.
The woman, after filing for divorce, was staying separately with her parents. Two months ago, she was searching for a house on rent as she wanted separate, bigger accommodation. She then fixed the house belonging to Prashanth Appu from Bengare Kulur. She then shifted some of her clothes a room of that house. As she suffered from fever thereafter, she had not started to reside there. In the meanwhile, the accused repeatedly called her, duly urging her to take her clothes away.

It is said that on June 8, Appu told her over phone that he would deliver her clothes near Kuntikan in the city. He came there but then said he had forgotten to bring the clothes. He asked her to a accompany him and personally collect the clothes. She went with him in his car. He then drove the car in a remote inner road that does not have movement of people and raped her there. After a few days after this incident, he started calling her, duly pestering her to marry him. When the woman refused, he reportedly threatened to kill her.
