Mumbai: DMart store in Malad sealed by BMC for violating Covid protocols

Mumbai, Jul 25: DMart store in Malad was sealed for violating Covid norms both by employees and customers by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Saturday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police has served notice to the manager of the store to submit an explanation within three days as to why the shop's license should not be revoked.

BMC officials said the staff at the store — especially those at the billing counter — were found not wearing masks or gloves, also neither employees nor customers were following social distancing at the shop.

On Saturday, Maharashtra registered 6,753 fresh Covid-19 cases and 167 deaths in 24 hours. There are 94,769 active cases in the state at present.
