Bangalore, Sept 14 (DHNS): On day one of his visit to in Tianjin, China, to attend the World Economic Forum, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa met several state heads and corporate leaders, including Nestle Global Company Chairman Brabeck Letmathe.
According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s secretariat, Yeddyurappa held discussions with Letmathe on Nestle’s expansion plans in Nanjangud in Mysore district.
Nestle had signed an MoU with the State Government during the recent Global Investors Meet (GIM) to invest Rs 350 crore to set up a manufacturing plant to produce noodles, condiments and seasoning .Zimbabwe has sought the help of the State in providing skill training for its youth.
The help was sought by Zimbabwe Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara during his meeting with Yeddyurappa. “The discussions focused on developing cooperation and exploring opportunities for joint investment in infrastructure, minerals, ICT,” the release said.
Mutambara proposed a joint session on Zimbabwe-Karnataka during the proposed Agri Investors Meet in Bangalore in January 2011.
Gerald Lawless, President of Jumeirah Group, the leading real estate and hotel company in Dubai and Middle East, during a meeting with Yeddyurappa informed him that the group intends to explore tourism-related projects in Bangalore and other parts of the State, the release said.
Vinit Mittal of Welspun Group expressed interest in investing in manufacture of steel pipes, textiles, solar and thermal power and roads, it said.
