Mumbai: Navy designates 'no-fly zone' over 3 km

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Jul 21: A 'No-fly Zone' has been designated for individuals and civil agencies by the Indian Navy's Western Naval Command (WNC) over an area of 3 km from the perimeter of naval installations in Mumbai.

Any need to fly drones over the restricted area requires permission from the Director-General Civil Aviation (DGCA) which can be obtained from the DigitalSky website (digitalsky.dgca.gov.in) and a copy of the letter is to be submitted, one week prior to the scheduled flight, to the WNC headquarters, a defence spokesperson said.

Drones flying without approval in the restricted area will be confiscated or destroyed and the operators would be liable for prosecution under the relevant provisions of law.
