Jul 19: DK reports 126 new Covid cases, Udupi 85 cases; 5 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 19: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, July 19 reported 126 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 97,025. The positivity rate of the district is 2.49%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 11,84,701 samples have been tested, of which 10,87,676 are negative.

There are currently 1,930 active cases in the district.

As many as 208 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday and raising the number of recoveries to 93,723.

The district recorded four deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,372.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 98,84,817 in fines for 81,110 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 7,39,500 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 85 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 68,388 out of which 833 are currently active.

A total of 115 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total recoveries to 67,149.

Coronavirus has claimed 406 lives in the district so far.

4,81,664 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,62,525 have received the second dose.
